Martha "Meme" Ann Lawson Chilton, 95, passed away November 12, 2025. She was born in Coopers, West Virginia the daughter of the late John David Lawson and Lenna Corelle Lawson. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Sam Chilton; granddaughter, April Stuart; and her brother, John T. Lawson. Martha came to Suffolk to attend and later graduate as a registered nurse from Lakeview School of Nursing. She would later go on to serve as the office manager of her husband's family's business, Chilton's Radiator.  She was a faithful member of Wilroy Baptist Church.  Martha showed her faith and love for her Savior in how she spent her time.  Her record is on high.

Martha is survived by her daughters, Kathy Chilton (John) and Kay Gunnell (Johnny); son, Kenneth Chilton (Cathy); grandchildren, Hunter Stuart (Olivia), Jason Baines (Kimberly), Brandon Gunnell (Danielle), and Jessica Cuningham; great grandchildren, Jackson, Andrew, Sifer, Chilton, Corbin, Lilly, and Ryder; and special caregiver, Catherine Pickering.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Tim Rawls and Pastor Burt Pearce officiating. Burial will be private at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may also join the family for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
