Mark Edward
Lareau
September 5, 1957 – December 31, 2022
Mark Edward Lareau, 65, peacefully passed away December 31, 2022. He was born in Pawtucket, RI the son of Richard Edward Lareau and the late Edna Georgette Robitaille Lareau.
Mark served four years in United States Coast Guard. After graduating from boot camp Mark was assigned to the USCG cutter Ingham for a tour of Europe. Upon his return from Europe Mark was stationed at Cape Charles, VA operating small boats for search and rescue, law enforcement missions, port security, drug and environmental reponse operations. His love of the ocean and for large ships lead him to pursue a career as a rigger working for a number of years with NORSHIPCO., currently BEI Systems. He also worked for Marine Hydraulics International (MHI) where he retired in 2016 as a rigging specialist. Working on the waterfront Mark made numerous friends and cultivated a knack for storeytelling.
Mark is survived by his wife of 27 years, Linda C. Lareau, Suffolk VA; daughters, Kimberly Cowan and Stacie Lareau; brother, Steven and his wife, Dianne, North Attleboro, MA; sister, Joanne, North Attleboro, MA; nephews, Brett, Chad and Adam Lareau; aunt, Francis O'Connell, Miami FL; and his much loved Great Aunts, Claire Hayes and Doris Culture, Pawtucket RI; and a number of cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on June 2, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at the residence of Linda Lareau. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to stjude.org. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
