Marion Lindley Parris, Sr., 80, of Suffolk, VA passed away September 8, 2010. He was born in Greene County, NC the son of the late Ethel Holloman Parris and John Harvey Parris. He was predeceased by his sister, Becky Hadley. He was a veteran having served during WWII. He was a car salesman at Doug's Auto Sales. Marion was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church and a former member of the Rotary Club and the Civitans.


Marion is survived by his wife, Ethel Louise Parris; daughters, Linda Wakefield and fiancé, Mike Matovich of Portsmouth, VA, Betsy Ellis and husband, David of Suffolk, VA, Patti Turner and husband, Jesse of Swansboro, NC, Janice Chace and husband, Andy of Gaffney, SC; son, Marion Parris, Jr. and wife, Jeannie of Wilson, NC; step-sons, Sivad Jerome Davis of Norfolk, VA, Jarod Lee Davis of San Diego, CA; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara McDonald, Jean Briddell, Brenda Moore, Susie Snyder, Shirley Shivar, and Joan Fields; brother, John Parris. Marion loved his family dearly and will certainly be missed by all.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, September 13, 2010 at 12 noon at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery with Rev. Charles Thompson officiating. Friends may join the family other times at the residence. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
