Marion Christine King Nelms, 99, passed away December 3, 2022.  She was born October 30, 1923 in Gates, NC the daughter of the late Marion Butler and Elizabeth Smith King and the stepdaughter of the late Clarine Powell King.  She was predeceased by three brothers and her husband of 76 years, Fred Landress Nelms, just 11 months ago.  Christine attended Cypress Chapel High School.  She was a devoted wife and mother and an active member of Bethlehem Christian Church for over 60 years.  Her service to the Church included as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Chancel Choir, the Brittle Sunday School Class and the Fellowship Club.  She loved her family and friends, but her greatest joy was helping others.

Christine is survived by daughters, Betty N. Harrell (Dick) and Linda N. Minnix (Jeff); grandchildren, Christy Arnemann (Eric), and William A. Nash, Jr.; great grandchildren, Emily and Allison Arnemann; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Susan Judkins, Evy Thompson, Carolyn Drier and Heather Peffley for their love and care of our Mom (Nannie) over the past several years.

A graveside service will be held at Holly Lawn Cemetery at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 10, 2022.  Memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem Christian Church.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com .
