Margaret Salmon Whitfield, 94, of Suffolk, VA passed away on July 26, 2011. A native of Gates Co., NC she was the daughter of the late John Henry Salmon and Della Mae Fanney Salmon. She was the owner and waitress at Cabin Inn Restaurant and a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ruby Salmon Warren and Arthur M. Warren of Suffolk; a brother and sister-in-law Jack Owen Salmon, Sr. and Virginia Baines Salmon of Portsmouth; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Newman Cemetery (behind Oakland Christian Church), officiated by Rev. Reginald Warren.
