Margaret Turner Pittard, 86, passed away September 22, 2021.  She was born in Newsoms, VA the daughter of the late Waverly Turner and Aubrey Morris Turner.  She was predeceased by her husband, Harvie Seldon Pittard; son, Russell Pittard; daughter, Robin Pittard Burden; grandchildren, Mack Pittard, III and Mandy Pittard.  Margaret worked as a secretary in the shipping department at Planters Peanut Company.  She also worked in admitting at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.  She was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church and the Electa Sunday School Class.

Margaret is survived by her son, Mack S. Pittard, II (Shelby); son-in-law, Rex Burden; grandchildren, Mack S. Pittard, IV (Autumn), Amanda Lynn Pittard, Ryan T. Burden (Meghann), and Rachel Bass (Joseph); great grandchildren, Isaiah, Avery, and Rex; brothers, Waverly "Buddy" K. Turner (Dorothy) and Morris "Coochie" W. Turner (Lou); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Western Branch Baptist Church, 6952 Old Myrtle Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Micah Voight officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the church.  Memorial donations may be made to Western Branch Baptist Church.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
