Margaret "Penny" Blanton, 74, passed away on April 29, 2022 and was proceeded in death by her late husband, Alton "Nat" Blanton.  Penny was born in Gadsden, AL, the daughter of the late Maburn Euther Rhoades and Mary Floreane Henderson.   She retired from the Suffolk Department of Social Services with over 30 years of service.  Penny was an active member of CrossPointe Free Will Baptist Church.

Penny is survived by her daughter, Tracy Lynn Blanton; her husband, Brad Weckbacher; grandchild, Trey Weckbacher; sister, Juanita Hopper; brother, Charles E. Rhoades; his wife Jane; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Penny's generosity has always been in the forefront of her life.  She had many talents; it brought her great joy to share those talents with others.  She loved to cook, bake, sew, crochet, quilt, make floral arrangements etc. Penny also started a college scholarship fund to help the youth at her church to attend the college of their choice. Penny's giving nature, sharp mind and wittiness have touched many lives.  She will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022, 11:00AM at CrossPointe Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor David Sexton officiating.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com .
