Margaret Babb Speight, 89, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was born in Nansemond County and was the daughter of the late Luther Lee Babb and Merlie Knight Babb. She was a resident of Lake Prince Woods, and she was a member of Cypress Chapel Congregational Christian Church.

She was predeceased by her husbands, George William Privott and Johnny W. Speight, and a daughter, Deborah Ann Speight. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Sandra Privott Chandler (Chuck) of Orlando, FL and Janet Speight Davidson (Steve) of Suffolk; grandchildren, Kelly C. Manfredi (Sal) of Anderson, SC, Kevin Davidson (Joy) of Wilmington, NC, and Derrick Chandler (Rosa) of Orlando, FL.; great grandchildren Zachary Stevens, Clover Davidson, and Kevin "Knox" Davidson, Jr.; and a sister, Hazel Babb Sadler of Suffolk.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Willis Dowling and Rev. Chris Surber officiating. Burial will be held after the service at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends and family may join the family other times at the home of Steve and Janet Davidson.
