Mae Williams Johnson, 94, of Suffolk, VA passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on April 7, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Henley Nathaniel and Dora Hall Williams and widow of F. Curtis Johnson. Mae was also predeceased by brothers Howard N. and Henley E. Williams. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Golden Age Ladies Sunday School Class. She was a member of Ladies Bridge Club and Constantia Garden Club.

Mae is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Fred C. and Anne J. Johnson of Lynchburg, VA, Douglas W. and Mary Sue Johnson of Suffolk; grandchildren Dale B. Johnson of Lynchburg, Brian Thomas Johnson and wife Nellie of Bridgeport, WV., Becky J. Finley and husband Mark of Raleigh, NC and Scott W. Johnson and wife April of Suffolk; five great grandchildren Mary Brugh and Ali Johnson of Lynchburg, Bethany Johnson of Bridgeport, WV, MaryDouglas and Victoria Johnson of Suffolk. Mae loved to play bridge with her close friends, some of which were Rosalee Smith, Dot Gatling, Julia Wolfe, and Myrtle Davidson. Other close friends were Chlorine Murphy and Dot Daughtry and numerous others.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Thurman R. Hayes, Jr. officiating. Private family interment will follow. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-8 pm in the Parr Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of Doug and Mary Sue.
