Lucille Pope Powell's Obituary
Lucille Virginia Pope Powell, 85, passed away on November 5, 2008 in Portsmouth, VA. A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late LaFonza Thomas Pope and Essie Norfleet Pope. She was also predeceased by her husband, James Arthur Powell; her son, James A. Powell, Jr.; and her granddaughter, Brooke Griffin. Lucille was the Office Manager for over 14 years at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Suffolk.
She is survived by her son, James "Jimmy" L. Powell, Sr. of Chesapeake; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church, with Rev. Jonathan Palmer officiating. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com
