Lucile Luter Byrd, 85, formerly of Suffolk, Virginia passed away December 28, 2006. She was born in Nansemond Co., VA the daughter of the late Minnie Scott Luter and George Harvey Luter. Lucile was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church. She was predeceased by her husband, James Rufus Byrd; sisters, Catherine Pierce, Sadie Jones, Edna Turner, Helen Luter; and brothers, Harvey Luter, Jr., and Urquart Luter.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn Byrd Moore and husband Bradley, and Penny Byrd Foxworth all of Gloucester, VA; grandchildren, Jay Cline and wife Donna of Gates, NC, Mykea F. Atkinson and husband Heath of Florence, SC, and Michael Foxworth and wife Jennifer of Richmond, VA; great grandchildren, Tyler, Parker, and Bryce Cline of Gates, NC, Reagan Atkinson of Florence, SC; brother, Edward Luter and wife Betty of Sunbury, NC; brother-in-law, Reuben Byrd and wife Doris of Suffolk, VA; and many beloved nieces and nephews and other family members.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 31, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home with Rev. Dolan Talbert officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Spring Christian Church Cemetery.
