Loyd Douglas Byrum, 83, of Suffolk, VA passed away November 29, 2010. He was born in Nansemond County the son of the late Annie Wilkins Byrum and Johnnie Byrum. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having retired as a staff sergeant.

Loyd is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Jane Byrum; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia J. and Don M. Herring of Suffolk; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy D. and Kathy Byrum of Suffolk, Dennis K. and Melanie Byrum of Indianapolis, IN; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Elsie B. Nelson of Jacksonville, NC.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family Wednesday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA and other times at the residence.
