Louie "Doug" Douglas Barnette, 70, of Windsor, VA passed away June 13, 2012. He was born in Pennington Gap, VA the son of the late Lura and Gilbert Barnette. He retired after 30 years as a construction inspector for VDOT and was a member of the Suffolk Moose Lodge #141.

Doug is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gloria K. Barnette; daughter and son-in-law, Elisa K. and Tim Simmons of Pierson, MI; son and daughter-in-law, Leslie D. and Lisa Barnette of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren, Victoria, Kristina, and Geoffrey; great grandchild, Shaylyn; sisters, Betty Smallwood, Peggy Lindsay, Wilma Johnson, and Lois Sheridan; brother, Ronnie Lee Barnette; sisters-in-law, Angeline Hofman, Jean Saghy, and Sylvia Schlaffer; numerous very special nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery with Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Sunday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA and other times at the residence.
