Lottie Lassiter Goodman, 88, of Suffolk, Virginia passed away September 11, 2006. She was a native of Gates Co., NC born to the late Elsie Benton Lassiter and Milton R. Lassiter. She worked more than 40 years at the Leggett's Department Store. She then went on to work as a greeter at Wal-Mart for 15 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Gregory Goodman and sister, Bessie Russ.
Lottie is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Margaret G. and Carson Whitley of Franklin, VA, Peggy G. Cornett of Suffolk, Florence G. Anderson and Emmett Davis of Portsmouth, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Billy "Butterbean" and Cindy Goodman of Zuni, VA; grandchildren, Sandra W. Hawkins (Bruce), Susan W. Keeter (Keith), Kim Wimbrough (Robbie), David Drewry, Jimmy Anderson (Sarah), Ashley Goodman; great grandchildren, Brian Vaughan, Josh Hawkins, Brandon Keeter, Chad Keeter, Amber-Leigh Wimbrough, Kelsie-Lynn Wimbrough, Rip Wimbrough, and Jordyn Anderson; brother and sister-in-law, Waymore and Nellie Lee Lassiter of Sunbury, NC; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home with Dr. Richard L. Peerey officiating. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family Wednesday night from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Peggy Cornett, 310 Shore Drive (Sadler Heights) Suffolk, VA.
