Lloyd Goodwin
White, Jr.
November 18, 1937 – April 18, 2025
Lloyd Goodwin White Jr, 87, passed away on April 18, 2025. He was born in Edenton, NC to the late Dorothy Vivian Rogerson Hadnot and Lloyd Goodwin White Sr. He is also predeceased by his sister, Mary C. Ward, and brother, Charles E. White. He was a member of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church and appreciated greatly all the assistance given to him and his wife, Jean, by their church family. He served in the US Army, 504th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC. He then became a City of Portsmouth Firefighter until injuries forced his resignation. He went on to work in the horticultural products field for many years. He and his wife founded L&J Homes, a rental property company.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gloria Jean Miller White; daughter, Vonda Jean White Davis (Gregory); grandson, Galen Burke Davis; step-brother, J.B. Harris, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 25, 2025, at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Ross Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery, 1421 Kings Fork Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinson.org. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
