Lloyd Clevon Carr Sr., born on January 13, 1943, in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, at the age of 83. He lived a full and vibrant life, marked by dedication to his family, faith, and a love for sports and the great outdoors.
Lloyd retired as the chief crew operator for International Paper, where he devoted many years of hard work and commitment. Outside of his professional career, Lloyd found joy in ten pin bowling, having achieved the remarkable feat of bowling three perfect games. He was an enthusiastic participant in the Dew Crew Bowling Team and enjoyed playing fast pitch softball in the church league with Southside Baptist Church Softball Team. Lloyd had a passion for manicuring his lawn as well as the lawns of others, taking pride in their pristine appearance.
Lloyd was a devoted member of Southside Baptist Church and the Senior Men's Sunday School Class, where his presence and contributions were cherished by all who knew him. His love for Westerns, particularly those featuring John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, or Audie Murphy, was well-known among his friends and family. Lloyd was also an avid football fan, with a particular fondness for his beloved Cleveland Browns.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Paul Clevon Carr and Goldie Florence Joyner Carr; his devoted wife of 56 years, Cleva Curnes Carr; and his brothers, Ivan Rae Carr and Paul Everett Carr.
Lloyd leaves behind a legacy of love and family, survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, L.C. Carr Jr. and Shari, and Keith Carr and Nancy; his cherished granddaughters, Taylor and Miranda Carr; his brother and sister-in-law, Payne Carr and Peggy; and special neighbors, Lee and Becky Oldaker.
A celebration of Lloyd's life will be held on July 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, with Rev. Burt Pearce officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
Friends and family are invited to visit with the family at their residences to share in the many memories and stories of Lloyd's life. Lloyd Clevon Carr Sr. will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.
