Linwood David Richards, Jr., 85, of Suffolk passed away on March 9, 2012. A native of Suffolk, VA he was the son of the late Pearlie Pierce Richards and Linwood David Richards, Sr. He retired from the U. S. Air Force after 22 years during which he served in World War, II, the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. Linwood also worked for the U. S. Postal Service for 20 years in Tampa, FL. He is a member of Wilroy Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha Richards of Suffolk; two daughters and sons-in-law Linda Donaldson and David of SC and Shelia Harper and Eric of FL and a son and daughter-in-law Linwood David Richards, III and Catherine of WA; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a sister Anita P. Nales and a brother James V. Richards.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk with Dr. Robert Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family on Monday evening from 7 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
