Linda Lee Simpson, 83, passed away on July 25, 2026. She was born in Nansemond County, Virginia to the late Edgar Wilson Simpson and Olivia Louise Smith Simpson. She graduated from Suffolk High School Class of 1961. Linda worked at the Suffolk Police Department for 23 years and at the Suffolk Department of Social Services for 20 years. During her spare time, she volunteered as a former leader of the Suffolk 4-H Equine Club.

Linda is predeceased by her sister, Anne Turner; and niece, Candice T. Williams.

She is survived by her great nephews, Michael K. Williams (Mandy), and Clayton A. Williams (Charlotte); great, great nephews, Adam J. Williams (Arianna) and J. Cole Terrill; great, great niece, Daphne N. Williams; great, great, grand niece, Averleigh I. Williams; and lifelong friends, Jimmy Oliver and Sally Antonelli.

Linda's graveside service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. To honor Linda’s love of animals (especially horses and cats) please donate to the Suffolk Humane Society in her memory in lieu of flowers.
