Linda Carr Jordan went to be with Jesus on January 1, 2009. She is survived by her best friend and husband, Gary; her children Tammy and Nathaniel, Robin and Joey, Krista and Steve, Matt and Amy, Elizabeth and David; her grandchildren, Lindsay, Jordan, Katelyn, Rylan, Simon and Olivia; her brothers and sisters, John and Jackie, Shirley and "Derby", Chuck and Kay.

She served the Lord as a Christian elementary school principal for over 35 years at Great Hope Christian, Suffolk Christian, and Portsmouth Christian. She was a long-time member at First Baptist Suffolk and enjoyed her music ministry as choir director at Beech Grove UMC for the past 15 years. Her passion was leading children to a faith and knowledge of God. She has left a legacy of faithfulness to her calling and many have been inspired and impacted by her life.

Her family will receive friends at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA on Friday, January 2, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery.
