Lillian Mae Byrd, 90, also known as Mama, Grandma, Grandma Byrd, Grandma Lillian, Mema, and Nannie passed away on October 23, 2012. A native of Franklin County, NC she was the daughter of the late William Green and Fronie Murray Green Baker. She was also predeceased by her husbands, Leslie Leroy Williams, Sr., Charles Betkey and Floyd S. Byrd and daughter, Pansie L. Marsh, son, Leslie L. Williams, Jr.; three grandchildren, Sonja Williams, Todd Williams, Keith Babb and one great granddaughter, Jessica. Lillian retired as Manager of Lake Cohoon and Lake Meade Fishing Station.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Peggy J. Weaver; Brenda and Smokey Dodson and her adopted daughter Lenanese B. Scott; sons and daughter-in-law, Warren Williams, J. D. and Carolyn Baker; 28 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; step-children and their spouses, Barbara and Jimmy Brinkley, Shirley and Bobby Klages and Raydell and Louann Byrd; brothers, Herbert H. "June Bug" Green, Billy Green, William Green; sister, Serepha Ferrell.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with Tom Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of one's choice.
