Lewis Henry Edmonds, Jr., 47, of Smithfield, VA passed away on May 27, 2007. He was a maintenance mechanic at Pier IX Terminals in Newport News, VA and a past member of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department for 14 years. Lewis was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a life long member of the Carrollton Hunt Club.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy R. Drake; his parents: Lewis H. Edmonds, Sr. and Ethel Edmonds of Carrollton; a son, Lewis H. Edmonds, III, LTJG USN and wife Kristin of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Susan R. Edmonds of Smithfield; two brothers, Gary Wayne Edmonds and wife Lisa and Terry Lee Edmonds and wife Joy; and a niece, Beth Ann Edmonds.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Bacon's Castle, Old Brick Cemetery with the Rev. Tommie Whitehead presiding. The family will receive friends at the residence from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
