Lewis Pharoah Byrum, 81, of Suffolk, VA passed away March 2, 2007. He was born in Nansemond County the son of the late Annie Wilkins Byrum and John "Johnnie" Byrum, Sr. He was also predeceased by his wife, Beatrice Dail Wells Byrum and brothers, John Byrum, Jr. and Thomas Byrum. Lewis was a farmer and a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
Lewis is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia B. and Paul Kirtz of Richmond, VA and Frances W. and Alan Harrell of Aulander, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel W. and Barbara Wells of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Tammy, Stephanie, Scott, and Brandon; great grandchildren, Taylor, Marvin, Derek, Matthew, Jackson, Alex, and Brooke; sister, Elsie B. Nelson of Jacksonville, NC; brother, Loyd D. Byrum of Suffolk, VA.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Liberty Spring Christian Church with Rev. Alan Lancaster and Dr. Richard Early officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Monday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home.
