Leroy "Pete" Copeland, Jr. of Gates, NC gained his wings April 30, 2017.  He was born April 10, 1962 to Leroy and Margie Copeland.  He is predeceased by his father, Leroy Copeland; his older brother, Jimmy Copeland; and special brother-in-law, Craig Chappell.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Margie Copeland; sisters, Sally Headrick (David), Virginia Hunnicutt (Jim), Judy Chappell, and Bernice Creekmore (Bill); brother, George Copeland (Trisha); 11 nieces and nephews; and 9 great nieces and nephews.  He loved gardening and his flowers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Ray Hampton officiating.  Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a visitation on Wednesday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Fly high free bird you will forever be in our hearts.
