Lelande "Lea" Ames Blake, died surrounded by her spouse and best friend of 45 years, Joyce L. Williams and her four legged children, Winnie and Jilly Bean in their home in Suffolk, Va. on 12-14-2024. "lvj-lvl"
Lea was born in Port Chester NY and was the daughter of the late Evelyn Ames Johnson and Harold Ames Sr.
Lea was predeceased by her beloved younger brother, Harold "Hank" Ames, Jr. She is survived by her spouse, Joyce L. Williams, her brother in law James Fanning and nephew Scott Ames (Lori Ames).
Lea retired as a Civilian Budget Analyst for the US Navy after 44 years of service. For her exemplary work with the US Navy, Lea won many awards and made friends all over the world.
Lea was well known for her knowledge of bass fishing and Champion brand boats. Lea was a lifetime member of the Bass Anglers Sportsman's Society, aka Bassmaster. Lea, her beloved dog Elizabeth and her Champion boat were once featured on the cover of Bass and Walleye magazine. She was the moderator for the Champion Boats forum on the webpage Bass Boat Central where she offered support and advice to other Champion boat owners. Lea and her fishing partner Joyce participated in various bass fishing tournaments using the team name….Team Law and Disorder.
Lea had an extraordinary love for her property, nature, animals, and especially her beloved Hummingbirds.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lea's name to any pit bull rescue or a local animal rescue of your choice. Condolences may be offered at www.parrfuneralhome.com
