Obituary

Leah Gillette Saul, 86, passed away September 27, 2020.  She was born in Scranton, PA the daughter of the late Elmer William Gillette and Myrtle Cahill Gillette.  She was predeceased by her son, Timothy L. Plewes; sister, Lois G. Hausler; brother, Leland I. Gillette, and husband, Walter J.Saul.

Leah retired as an office administrator for People's Life Insurance Company. She also went on to work as a medical records administrator for Sentara Obici Hospital and retired from there as well.

Leah is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Steven A. Plewes (Janet) of Naples, FL, Matthew W. Plewes (Juli) of Shizouka, Japan, and Connie Blair of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Stephanie Walker, Michelle Kotwas, S. Benjamin Plewes, Tracy Gardner, Sachi Plewes, Mattie Plewes, and Christopher Plewes; great grandchildren, Joanie and Frank Walker, Callan and Thea Kotwas, Liam and Deacon Gardner; former husband and father of her children, Benjamin A. Plewes (Betty Sue).

In addition to being a doting Grandmother, Leah was a lover of all animals large and small; often caring for the sick and injured. At one time she had two horses, a goat, and dogs and cats too numerous to count. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially at the beach and around her pool and loved spending time with her friends. She had an infectious smile, a zest for life and always enjoyed a good laugh.

Services will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the ASPCA.  Parr Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com .
