Laurie Atkinson Pair went to be with the Lord Jesus on October 29, 2006. He was born on October 11, 1926 to the late Thomas Benjamin Pair and Etta Newsome Pair in Brink, Virginia. He was a resident of Suffolk for many years, a member of First Baptist Church and a teacher of the Agape Class.

He was retired from Southwestern General Life Insurance Company and served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman.

L. A. is survived by his wife of 48 years, Christine Bryant Pair; son Michael Atkinson Pair, daughter Deborah Pair Ummels and her husband, Daniel Craig Ummels; granddaughter, Laurie Danielle Ummels; brother, Henry Pair and his wife, Catherine; sisters, Lorene Pair Davis, Louise Edwards and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Parr Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. with burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Brian Ray officiating.
