Larry Douglas Bell, 62, of Newport News, VA passed away September 6, 2011. He was born in Norfolk, VA to Woodie H. and Albert F. Bell, Sr. Larry graduated from Fork Union Military Academy in 1968 and Christopher Newport University in 1972. His love of cars inspired him to start his own business, Automotion, in 1988. He attended Bridgepoint Church. Even through his courageous battle with cancer he was known to go out and hit a bag of golf balls with his buddies. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and ready smile for everyone.
In addition to his parents, Larry is survived by his best friend and companion, Freda Murphy Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne B. and Kevin E. Morris of Glen Allen, VA; brother, Albert F. Bell, Jr.; and nephew, Thomas H. Morris.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 2 p.m. at St. Luke's Memorial Park in Smithfield, VA with Rev. Eric Ashley officiating.
