Obituary

King Solomon Carpenter, 73, passed away May 3, 2018.  He was born in Nansemond County, VA the son of the late Lawrence Battle Carpenter and Florence Geneva Duck Carpenter Nixon.  He was predeceased by his wife, Cynthia Hall.  King was a United States Army veteran having served during Vietnam.  He later went on to work as a Master Carpenter.

King is survived by his daughter, Amanda Walters (William); sons, Joseph Spruiell (Jamie), Kevin Hall (Essime), Kenneth Hall (Marissa); grandchildren, Lawrence, Emily, Skilynn, Dustin, Ashlyn, Dillon, Alley, Lexi, and Raymond; great grandchildren, Navaeh, Allysa, Georgia, Layla, Carley, Brianna, Zach, and Ryan; sisters, Betty Crumpler (Gerald), Frances Mathias (Lucky); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Franklin VFW at 3385 Beaverdam Rd, Franklin, VA 23851.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Franklin VFW or Isle of Wight County Humane Society.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
