Kenneth Neal
Bunch
May 21, 1935 – December 28, 2025
A summons for "Ken" to come to his heavenly reward was issued on December 28, 2025 to his home prepared by the Lord Jesus Christ. After many years of faithful service in God's service. His great love for family, preaching, the church and teaching God's Word has left a lasting impression on the lives of those who knew him.
Among the many highways of his life we find him being raised on a farm where he lost his right hand in a corn picker. He then attended Northwest Radio School and worked at WLPM, WYSR, WDDY, and WJNC. Then a new highway led him to Virginia Department of Transportation where he worked as a weigh master for almost 20 years. This linked him with the State Troopers whom he desired to be one of before losing his hand. A new highway opened that led him to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He then traveled to Ahoskie, NC where he pastored Bethlehem Baptist and Wakelon Baptist of Colerain, then to Camden, NC where he pastored Geneva Baptist. Then to Windsor, NC to pastor Green's Cross Baptist.
A new highway led him back to radio at WDRP-FM and WIAM to Lifeline Radio, the Southern Gospel Voice of Eastern, NC. A new highway led him to Wise, NC where he pastored Wise Baptist Church until his retirement on the last day of 2000 from full ministry. Then a new highway led to Second Touch Ministries where he continued to preach revivals, do supply, interims, and Bible teaching. His motto was…"Preacher never retire until they expire."
Anyone knowing him would say, "he would rather preach than eat." He is preceded in death by his parent's, James Haywood Bunch and Lula Mae Baines Bunch; and brothers, Haywood H. Bunch, J. Derwood Bunch (Beulah), and Thomas H. Bunch; and step grandson, Jason Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years of blissful marriage, Nancy M. Bunch; daughters, Melonie Bunch Hill (Tony), Patricia Bunch Hood (Randy); grandchildren, Mackenzie Hood; step-grandson, Arsen Delacroix; sister-in-law, Carolyn Bunch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Homegoing service will be held Sunday, January 4, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Wilroy Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Rawls and Rev. Ken Littleton officiating.
