Aston
August 31, 1967 – March 14, 2024
Keith Nathaniel Aston, 56, passed into the loving arms of His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 14, 2024. He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of the late Nathaniel and Dora Aston. Keith worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation for nearly 38 years in several areas including Survey, Location and Design and Traffic Engineering. He is a current member of Southside Baptist Church. He was a former member of Western Branch Baptist Church where he was born, raised and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on September 9, 1979 at the age of 12 and later served as a Deacon. Keith could strike up a conversation with anyone and in those conversations he was passionate about sharing his love for Christ.
Keith is survived by his wife of 29 years, Margaret Hopper Aston; son, Tyler Keith Aston; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine Aston Lankford (Darrell); nephew, Nicholas Lankford and his two Boston Terriers, Oreo and Harley whom he dearly loved and were his best buddies at home. Keith enjoyed going to the Outer Banks of North Carolina spending time at their vacation home, driving out on the beach and just relaxing. Keith also loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He and Margaret traveled to Sturgis, South Dakota in 2017 for the annual motorcycle rally and were hoping to go back again in the next couple of years. He is a Life Member of the National Harley Owners Group and a member of the local Hampton Roads Harley Owners Group. He was a former member of the Windsor Ruritan Club.
A funeral service will be held Monday, March 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Western Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Fred Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Western Branch Baptist Church cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Sunday night, March 17, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Shawn Pelletier and the UVA Liver Transplant General Surgery team for their excellent care during his recent hospitalization and especially Dr. Michael Ryan who has cared for Keith for over 35 years. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, American Red Cross, Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, and/or Southside Baptist Church.
