Kathryn "Kitty" Carr Shifflett, 92, of Beaverdam, VA passed away May 25, 2012. She was born in Nansemond County, VA the daughter of the late Florine A. Spivey Carr and Alfred Carr. She was predeceased by her husband, Glen Aaron Shifflett. Kitty worked as a supervisor for Royal Globe Insurance Companies in NY, NY. She was a member of Westhampton Methodist Church in Richmond, VA. She was also a member of the Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, Eta Si Chapter.

Kitty is survived by her sons, Donald G. Shifflett and Meredith A. Shifflett both of Beaverdam, VA; granddaughter, Holly M. Price of Windsor, VA; sister, Marjorie C. Herlich of Duluth, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas L. and Betty Carr of Suffolk, VA; special friend, Doris M. Twigg of Beaverdam, VA; 13 nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday, May 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Rev. Tim Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
