Junious Parker Scott, Sr., 82, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident.

Parker was born on June 21, 1924 to Junious Walter Scott and Virginia Turner Scott of Battery Park, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Alice Carter, Leslie Reynolds, Twyla Gullett and Clara Foster; and his brothers, Walter Scott and John Scott. He was a lifelong member of the Battery Park Baptist Church and a member of the Men's Bible Class. After a long livelihood of farming, he retired in 1979. Parker was also a newspaper carrier for the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot. One of his greatest enjoyments was watching his grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Charlotte Edwards Scott; son J. Parker Scott, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Rescue, VA; son Lloyde Whitfield Scott and his wife Debbie Jo of Carrollton, VA; sisters Ella Keith and her husband Sam of Newport News, VA and Violet Barlow and her husband Peyton of Smithfield, VA.

Granddaddy will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Jeffrey Todd Scott and fiancé Kathryn Rountree and James Ryan Scott.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Battery Park Baptist Church, Battery Park, VA. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007 at Battery Park Baptist Church, with Rev. Allan Hogge officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke's Memorial Park.
