June Ford Tatum aged 84 of Richmond, Virginia, died on April 26, 2009, in Suffolk, Virginia.
June is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Doug Tatum. She was preceded in death by her father, William Spence Harvey, Jr., her mother, May Deitrick Harvey, and a brother, Robert Wright Harvey. She is survived by her three children: E. C. "Buck" Ford III (Nora) of Statesboro, Georgia, Martha Spence Ford of Pennsylvania Furnace, Pennsylvania, and Mark Deitrick Ford (Laura) of Denton, Texas; five grandchildren: Amy Ford, Carl Ford, Austin Ford, Ford DeCastro, and Kevin Ford; and five great-grandchildren.
June graduated from Richmond's John Marshall High School in 1941. She was a mother and a secretary working for the National Park Service, G. L. Howard Construction Company, William Byrd Press, and Reynolds Metals Company where she retired in 1994. June was an active member of the Richmond Bicycle Club for over a decade. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Short Pump, Virginia, for most of her life.
A Memorial Service directed by Pastor Ernest Hogge will be held at Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Short Pump, VA, in the Chapel at 2:00pm on Sunday, May 17, 2009.
