Julian C. Jenkins, Jr. known as "Sparky" to his family and friends, 88, was called home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 26, 2011. He was born to Julian C. and Annie Bradshaw Jenkins on March 13, 1923.

He was a graduate of Windsor High School, class of 1940. He retired from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and was an active member of Colosse Baptist Church. He served on the Isle of Wight County Planning Commission (12 yrs) and the Board of Zoning Appeals (15 yrs).

Left to embrace his memory is his loving and devoted wife, Kathryn C. Jenkins. He was the cherished father of four daughters, Diann Whitley (Frank), Joyce Carter (Gavin), Lou Ann Darden (Dennis) and Becky Cobb (Kevin). He leaves eight adoring grandchildren; Jon, Chris , Daniel, Michael, Tyson, Krystle, Dusty, and Josh and three great grandchildren: Jack, Kaydence and Nate.

A memorial service will be led by Pastor Tim Webb at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 2 at Colosse Baptist Church. A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
