Joyce L. Taylor, born 22Jan1929 in Sparta, WI, to Helmuth and Florence Bjerke Mantzke, passed away on 14 Sept 2025. She was involved in many volunteer activities with her children (Girl Scouts, band boosters, etc) and in several churches over the years.  She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Va Beach from 1982-2007. She was a docent with the historical Lynnhaven and Francis Land Houses.  She received the Francis Land House Judith Connors award in 2004 and the Virginia Beach Volunteer of the Year Award for the hospitality industry in 2006.

She was married to George O. Taylor, Jr for 72 years, who predeceased her in June. She is survived by 3 daughters - Leeanne, Amy (David), and Nancy (Michael); 3 grandchildren – Chris (Kristin), Taylor (Kayla), and Leighanna, and 2 great-grandchildren, Lizzy and Benton. A memorial service will be held at Parr Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept 25 at 3 pm.  Burial will be private at the Albert G Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
