Joyce Bratcher Giles, 92, passed away October 22, 2025.  She was born in Danville, VA the daughter of the late Willie L. and Della S. Bratcher.  Joyce was predeceased by her first husband, John Velmar and by her second husband, James "Jack" Ashby Giles; son, Larry Velmar; step-daughter, Jeanna Rose, and brother, Leverett Bratcher.  She retired from General Electric.

Joyce is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura Ann Velmar Frank (William "Bill"); daughter-in-law, Tammy Zaner; step-children, Andrew Giles and John Allen Giles (Mickey); grandchildren, Jesse Adamson, Colby Adamson, Chris Frank, Christa Granado, Kari Tibbits (Kenny), Lori Crawford, James Crawford, Megan Parker (Dustin), April Pierce; great grandchildren, Isaac Granado, Jacob Adamson, and Isaiah Weiland; sister-in-law, Daisy Bratcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Holy Neck Christian Church, 4400 Holy Neck Rd., Suffolk, VA 23437 with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
