Joyce Elaine Matthews Brinkley, 74, of Suffolk, VA passed away January 8, 2018. She was born in Suffolk, VA to the late Horace and Maude Matthews. She is also predeceased by her husband of 37 years, John Wesley Brinkley, Jr.

Joyce is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Lisa Thompson and Nancy and Keith Carr; son and daughter-in-law, John and Willa Brinkley; grandchildren, Ashley, Brooke, Taylor, Matthew, and Miranda; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Curtis Meacham; and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Cindy Matthews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with Rev. Walter Johnston officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com
