Joyce White Baker, 78, of Suffolk, VA passed away August 12, 2009. She was born in Kings Mountain, NC. The widow of Thomas Lansing Baker, she was the daughter of the late Ruby and Morgan White and predeceased by her step mother, Addie Belle White. Joyce retired as an office assistant from Suffolk Home Medical. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Donna B. Totty, Judy B. Wilson and her husband Bobby; sons, Thomas Dennis Baker and Mark David Baker all of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Dwayne Totty (Wendy), Crystal Conner (Tim), and Ashton Wilson; great grandchildren, Whitney Chavis and Kristen Totty; sisters and brothers, Ileen, Cathy, T.C. and Chuck all of NC; 4 nieces; and 4 nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, VA with Pastor Art McGahan and Rev. Stewart McCarter officiating. Entombment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may join the family Friday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Donna Totty.
