Joyce Griggs Adams, 79, passed away March 29, 2024.  Joyce was born in Isle of Wight Co., VA, the daughter of the late Richard Willard and Martha McClenney Griggs.  She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Jerry Adams, Sr., son; Jerry Adams, Jr.; granddaughter; Amber Rice; brothers, Richard,  Aubrey, Harvey, Jack Griggs; and sisters, Versenia and Bee.  She worked as a Customer Service Representative for Verizon. Joyce was a member of Radiant Life Ministries where she taught the Gems Class and was a former Treasurer and Board Member. Joyce was known as a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a member of her church.  She was passionate about praying and feeding her family, both spiritually and physically.  Joyce loved everyone.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Nancy Adams Harrington (David); grandchildren, Jenna Brooks, Chase Brooks, Tyler Harrington, Jaime Allen (Brandon); great grandchildren, Carter Rice, Wesley Rice, Mia Powell, Ellie L. Allen; sisters, Anita Joyce, Martha Whitley; brother, Roland Griggs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Radiant Life Ministries, 100 Kilby Shores Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434 with Pastors Don Milner and Jonathan Michalak officiating. Entombment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.  A visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Radiant Life Ministries Youth Program.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
