Josephine Worrell Pierce, 87, passed away December 2, 2023.  She was born in Isle of Wight County, VA the daughter of the late Joseph Franklin Worrell, Sr. and Olive Wills Worrell.  She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Percy Pierce, Sr.; her sister, Marie W. Roeder; and her brother, Joseph Franklin Worrell, Jr.  Josephine retired from patient accounts at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.  She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Josephine is survived by her daughter, Wanda Susan Prescott and husband Frank; son, Richard Percy Pierce, Jr.; grandchildren, Amanda Brooke Dalton (Lucas), Christopher Neil Shea (Sarah), Zachary Aaron Pierce (Ashley), Michelle Leigh Prescott, Stephen Pierce Prescott; great grandchildren, Zaylie Faith Kitchens, Katie Walker Pierce, Elijah Michael Dalton, Adam Zachary Pierce, Aspen Olivia Dalton, Connor Owen Pierce, Virginia "Ginny" Lynn Shea, and Peyton Mary Jean Pierce; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Lisa Meyers officiating.  Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Thursday night from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to the Providence United Methodist Church Building Fund.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
