Obituary

Joseph Timko, Jr. beloved husband, father, business partner and friend to many went to be home with the Lord at his home, in his sleep, on December 29, 2021. He was 49 years young with a promising life ahead of him.

He is survived by his wife Sarah and his children Joseph, Karrah, Isaac, Jordan, Hannah, Elijah, and Benjamin; parents, Joseph Richard Timko, Sr. and Marilyn Jean Rufft Timko; and sister, Pamela Lynn Thomas.  Joe was a wonderful, loving father who enjoyed spending time with his family including RV travel and dirt bike riding. He always gave the children the time they needed which is why they adored him so much.

Joe was born on October 8, 1972 in Mckeesport, PA. He graduated from Elizabeth Foward High School. After completing school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He bravely fought enemies abroad in Operation Desert Shield/ Storm. He was then sent to Alaska for a Military Police position at Clear Air Force Station. Many of his friends enjoyed shooting with him because of his incredible weapons knowledge and exact marksmanship.

Joe was an extraordinary man. A man that defined the very word. A man that most could only ever dream of being. The kind many believed would live forever. His great strength and wit could outlift and outsmart his enemy. The man had such a soldier mentality, he would often sleep with his shoes on, in case he had to leave quickly. Joe could fix anything with angle iron and 3" lags. His early career in the steel mills as a diesel mechanic taught him skills he would carry throughout his life.

He moved down to Virginia for a fresh start at a new life when he met his future wife, Sarah, who had just done the same. Together they built a successful company named J&S Overhead Garage Door Service. Over the next 13 years they worked side by side helping each other to grow. Along the way, Joe led many to Christ (Yeshua) by telling them his testimony of what God had done for him. He made himself available for those needing advice and giving life lessons in the hilarious way only Joe could. Many considered him to be their best friend. Joe's legendary status would put men half his age to shame. Joe will always be known as a man of renown, the kind myths are made from.

He will be greatly missed, often remembered, and never forgotten. Absent from the body present with the Lord.
