Joseph Marion Pitt, Jr., 69, of Suffolk, VA passed away on December 31, 2010. He was born in Philadelphia, PA the son of the late Joseph Marion Pitt and Alfreda Walgast Pitt. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during Vietnam. Joe later went on to become the owner and operator of Western Branch Press, Inc.

Joe is survived by his son, Joseph Marion Pitt, III and wife, Donna of Windsor; his former wife and good friend, Sue Burke of Suffolk, VA; and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Carol Pitt of Evans, GA.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery with Chaplain Dick Dinges officiating. Friends may join the family Tuesday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA for a time of visitation.
