Joseph Thomas "Joe" Copeland, 84, went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2021. He was born in Nansemond County, Virginia, on December 12, 1936, to the late Laura and Kennie Copeland. He had eleven siblings. Joe is survived by two sisters, Louise Holder and Carolyn Hankins. He was employed by Lipton Tea Corporation. He was a kind, compassionate, giving individual. He was a loving father to three children: Yvonne (Ray) Johnson, Tammy (Copeland) Wasson and Anthony (Lisa) Copeland. Joe was also a grandfather to eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Our family would like to thank Robbie Copeland and dedicated neighbors Kathy and Melissa for being a special blessing to our father. Joe's graveside service will be at 2:00pm, Sunday March 14, 2021, at the Copeland Family Cemetery, 712 Buckhorn Drive, Suffolk, Virginia with Pastor Rob Slingluff officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bethlehem Christian Church Food Pantry, 1549 Holland Road, Suffolk, Virginia.
