Joseph Lee Fowler, 82, of Suffolk, VA passed away on April 22, 2013. A native of Southampton County, VA he was the son of the late Charlie Fowler and Willie Marie Beale Fowler. He was also predeceased by his wife, Shirley Ann Little Fowler and a brother, Charles L. Fowler. Joseph served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War and later worked until retirement as an Inspector at the Newport News Shipyard. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, a former member of the American Legion and involved with the Boy Scouts of America for 28 years.

Joseph is survived by a son, Robert Lee Fowler; a daughter and son-in-law Penny Renee Dent and Andrew T. Dent; two grandchildren: Michael Keith Gividen and AnnRea Jeanette Fowler; two step grandchildren: Nathaniel and Cora Dent and two brothers, Franklin Fowler and David T. Fowler.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Jim George officiating. Inurnment, with Military Honors, will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
