Dr. Joseph Hyunbae Chu PhD, 90, a native of South Korea, the son of the late Joo, Dong Hoo and Oh, Hoi Soon passed away on September 13, 2025.  Dr. Chu worked as an International Marketing Consultant for the Virginia Department of Agriculture.  After retiring, Dr. Chu worked for Montague Farms, Inc. as an Exporter for Food Quality Grain.

Dr. Chu is survived by his wife, Chiyoko C. Chu and her children, Sharene Brown and husband, Retired General Charles Q. Brown, Jr., Abraham Guilford, Dr. Mark Guilford and wife, Lisa Guilford; and grandchildren, Ross Brown and Sean Brown.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Elder Alonzo Hawkins and Dr. Diane Hawkins officiating.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
