Joseph Oliver Brinkley, Sr., 63 a native of of Suffolk, VA died on October 11,2006. He was the son of the late James Willie Brinkley and Virginia Elizabeth Byrd Brinkley.
Joseph was also predeceased by two sisters, Rosamond B. Butler and Amelia Brinkley Hedgepeth Babb and one brother, Challis T. Brinkley.

He was survived by a daughter, Virginia Renee Gardner of North Carolina; sons, Joseph Oliver Brinkley, Jr. of North Carolina, and Thomas Henry Stice of Portsmouth, VA.; 4 grandchildren; a brother, W. Timothy Brinkley of Suffolk, VA. and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, with Rev. Roger D. Johnson officiating. Friends may join the family Friday night at Parr Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. and other times at the residence of W. Timothy Brinkley. Condolences
