Johnnie Ray Byrd, 53, of Suffolk, Virginia passed away August 22, 2006. He worked in maintenance at Mike Dumans and was a native of Bertie Co., NC. He was the son of the late Johnnie Ray Conner and preceded in death by his step-father, Jeremiah Davis.

He is survived by his daughters, Hollie Britt of Lumberton, NC and Stacye Lee Byrd of Suffolk, VA; son, Ridge Byrd of Suffolk, VA; mother, Vonnie Byrd Davis of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Johnnie Lee Britt and Austin Shane Byrd; and half brothers, Jerry Thomas Davis, Kenneth Wayne Davis, Gerald Payne Davis, Jerry Lee Davis.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home with Rev. T. A. Powell. Burial will be in Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery.
