John Robert Winborne, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 17, 2019. He was born to the late Annie Virginia Byrum and Robert Thomas Winborne and is also predeceased by his brothers, Harry Wayne and Royce Thomas Winborne. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from Planters Peanuts after over 30 years as a machine mechanic. He was an avid hunter and sports fan.

John is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rachel Ann Dotson Winborne; sisters, Mary Lane Hart and Joyce Ann Roach (George); brother, Raymond Earl Winborne (Cheryl); sister in law "daughter", Janet Marie Bryant; and numerous loved ones.

John's funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Randy Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Winborne Family Cemetery, 6048 Indian Trl, Suffolk, VA 23437. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm, Friday, April 19 at Parr's.
