John Edward Simpson, 67, passed away February 18, 2013. He was born in Suffolk, VA the son of the late Walter and Elizabeth Simpson. John retired as a glass glazer from Innerspace Systems. He was an active gardner, Red Skin lover, Nascar fan, and self proclaimed Neighborhood Watchman on his golf cart.

John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce Byrum Simpson; son, Keith Edward Simpson and wife, Jennifer Modlin Simpson; granddaughter and apple of his eye, Courteney Elizabeth Simpson; numerous brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, aunts, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Friends may join the family other times at the residence. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
