John Augustus Ramsey, III, 48, of Ivor died suddenly Christmas morning at home.
John was a native of Isle of Wight County, born June 5, 1959, the eldest son of Mildred and John (Jack) A. Ramsey, Jr.
John was a farmer until December, 2000. He was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church, a 1978 graduate of Isle of Wight Academy, alumni of Augusta Military Academy, and attended North Carolina State University.
John is survived by his mother, Mildred; his sister, Nancy; his brothers, Reed and Edwin; and nieces Jaclyn Augusta and Carly Reed.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at Mill Swamp Cemetery, Mill Swamp Road, Ivor, with Rev. Robert F. Cofield, Jr. officiating.
John's body will lie in Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at home. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com
